December calls for warm drinks, snow boots, and time preferably spent watching amazing (yet somewhat horrible) hallmark christmas films. It also calls for glamorous holiday makeup as we pass around eggnog or cider. It also is a time of the year that I feel like makeup can push past everyday neutrals and it can be so much more glamorous and colorful. When I was putting my December makeup bag together I wanted to have the perfect materials to do a glam christmas look as well as some other winter faves.
To start with skin, I have my skin savior. It is my everyday face moisturizer. The Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer by First Aid Beauty has been in my skin care rotation since last spring (I actually think I may have hauled it on a blog post at some point) and has absolutely changed my skin. I have very dry skin and winter months only add to this. This moisturizer keeps my face hydrated and I haven’t had a single dry patch since using it. I have also moved onto my fullest coverage foundation which is my Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick. In winter I usually amp up every aspect of my makeup, but foundation is the one that changes the most. I love a full coverage look to cover up any red areas or dullness that will come through. This foundation also makes my face look flawless when my skin is really having a bad day.
For eyes I’ve been taking it back with one of my first makeup products. It’s the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette which I fell in love with a couple years ago. Recently I haven't been that interested in Too Faced products, and truly I can’t remember the last time I picked one up, but their eyeshadow formula is amazing! I use Too Faced eyeshadows all the time and this palette has made me want to look into some of their new launches. The shades are classic neutrals and shimmers that are essential for a holiday look.
my favorite shades (from top to bottom):Marzipan, Hazelnut, Semi Sweet, Triple Fudge, and Creme Brûlée
I have also added some new lip products to my my makeup bag. I wanted to have some everyday lippies to wear that weren't nude but weren't full on x-mas red and I’ve found two cherry red picks that are perfect. The first is a Rouge Dior lipstick in the shade Rialto (which I'll have a full review and ramble on up soon) and the second is a No. 7 lipgloss in the shade Pink Hydra. I really love the lipstick as it gives a really wearable look at when worn with the gloss it’s a stunning wearable combo.
There are five things in my December makeup bag! What’s in yours?
