Blogmas Day 18: Pixi endless silky eye pen trio for the holidays

For any beauty lover there is another joy that comes along with Christmas. The joy of a good christmas gift set.

I don’t know if I’ve missed the good ones in the past but it seems like this year beauty gift sets have just become SO good! I have been pretty strict with myself when buying makeup but this set looked so good that I just couldn't pass it up!

The set includes three mini sized Pixi Silky Eye Pen liners which are packaged in a beautiful pink and gold box. The eyeliners themselves have the classic Pixi mint green as an accent on the bottom and corresponding packaging to the liners shades. These liners are meant to give the colour intensity of a liquid liner with the ease of a pencil liner. The liners are also waterproof while being hypoallergenic, paraben and preservative free, and are not tested on animals. The set includes two permanent colors (BlackNoir- an intense matte black and BronzeBeam- a metallic bronze) and one limited edition color that is exclusive to the kit (RoseGlow- a rose gold). I really love the BlackNoir and BronzeBeam shades as they are perfect for the smudgy eyeliner look I’ve been wearing all the time recently. I don’t know when it happened but I just lost some of my love for liquid liner and I’ve really grown to love smudged a smudge look using pencil liners.

I have pretty large eyes and I think it’s almost essential for me to have some more dramatic eye makeup as my eyes are such a focal point of my face, It just works for me! So I have been looking for a good pencil eyeliner that I can use to create a messy and smudgy cat eye that won’t get everywhere and still packs a lot of punch. I am really happy with these eyeliners as the formula is creamy but V long lasting. It doesn’t transfer when applied to my lids and is precise enough to create a cat eye.

I will say that I think it is good in the waterline but I do have to reapply it every couple hours. I also found the the matte black shade lasts MUCH longer than the other two (I think this shade is my fave!).

Overall I would recommend this set as the price of $14 is quite a steal for Pixi and I do like the liners on the my lids. Also Pixi is a more natural based brand at the drugstore and an individual full size silky eye pen would cost $12. I think this set is really great to try out the formula to see if you would like it and it only runs $2 more than trying one full size.

What do you think of this set? Have you tried anything out form Pixi Beauty? Any liner recommendations that really last in the waterline?
