The Beauty Mix

-featured from left to right: Hourglass palette, Kat Von D powder, Maybelline Total Temptation mascara and Mac Ruby Woo lipstick-

I’m really a much less complicated person in summer. I am the definition of seasonally “cool” and this is not the case in winter or fall, or spring. Winter is the season when a primer is followed by a foundation and then a powder and then a blush and then etc, etc, etc. In winter I don’t mind taking more time to remove the drabness of my skin but everyone looks better in summer. It’s the tan. So, I’m all about quick makeup that lasts through the sun.

Skin

For skin, I have been using my trusty Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Cleanser in the creamy formula (NOT the foaming one, trust me…). It’s a simple cleanser that doesn’t strip even the most sensitive skin. Next, I have been using the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream as a moisturizer and primer. I used to love this cream… and pretty much everything I have tried from First Aid beauty. I recently got it in a sample size from Sephora and have fallen back in love.

Base

To start my makeup I have either been skipping foundation or going for the most glowy foundation I can find. That foundation is the L’Oreal Pro Glow Foundation (which I reviewed here). It’s a foundation that can give a good (light/medium) amount of coverage but I have been applying it with my hands for a light natural look. If I skip foundation, which is what often happens, I use the L’Oreal Pro Glow concealer. It has been a favorite of mine since… January, February...early spring to say the least. The concealer is light, and covers well, but glows like no other. Powder is a quick choice between the Coty Airspun translucent powder or my beloved (and almost fully used up) Kat Von D powder (both of which have been seen on my blog many times). For bronzer, blush, and highlight I have been loving one palette for them all. The palette is from the brand Hourglass (the best brand for glowy powders) and its LE from holiday 2016. This is by far the most expensive piece of makeup I have ever purchased and thank god I love it so much that two years later I am still using it daily. I am a huge fan of Hourglass and would recommend all of their powder products.

Eyes

Eyes are very simple nowadays. No primer, no transition shade, and barely any eyeshadow. If I bother with color it’s only a wash of the highlights from the Hourglass palette . I use the Maybelline Total Temptation pencil in the brunette shade (as it fills in big eyebrows like no other) and the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara which is the perfect amount of volume w/ a little clump.

Lips

Lastly, for lips, I have either been wearing a balm (the Buxom plumping one mainly) and adding a thin layer of my perfect red lipstick in the shade Ruby Woo from Mac (read about it here) on top.

What’s in your July Makeup Mix? I would love to know (like please though, I am obsessed with hearing other people's routines)
