Hi guys! Today I’m doing the blogger recognition award and I was nominated by the lovely Hayley over at HayleyxMartin (check her blog out Here, it's such a great blog and I love reading it!) . I'm so excited to be doing this post as it's the first blog tag I've done and I get to nominate some amazing bloggers!
Here are the rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2.Write a post to show your award!
3.Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4.Share two pieces of advice for new bloggers!
5.Choose 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to
6.Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them. Provide the link to the post you created.
How I Started My Blog
I actually had a different blog before I had this one, and I called it B’s Blog of Bath and Beauty. Which was a huge tongue twister, and it didn't really fit what I was writing about. As I started writing on it I realized that I wasn’t really writing about bath items I also wanted my blog name to be more broad (so I could write about anything). So, I started Brynnie Blogs (as my name is Brynn and Brynnie has been a nickname of mine forever). I started my blog as I was reading other people's favorites and beauty posts, and I loved it! I really wanted to be able to share what I was loving (beauty wise, style wise, etc) as no one I knew personally was really into that kind of thing and I really wanted to be able to talk about it (and get so excited about it) with people who also have the same interests.
Advice
My first tip of advice would be to join in on the fun of the blogging community. This may seem pretty obvious, but personally when I started, I was too nervous to comment on posts or join any other social sites to connect my blog. This was such a mistake as joining bloglovin and twitter have been AMAZING for connecting with bloggers in the community. The blogger twitter chats are so much fun, and it's a great way to find amazing blogs and share your blog. Bloglovin is another great one as I have a feed of all my favorite blogs, and I can find their new posts easily!
My second tip would be to really focus on what you love and just blog about that. When I first started blogging, I kept trying to put myself in a box with what I was going to write about. I would say "I will write about A, B, and C" and then I would have a wonderful idea for a post that wouldn’t fit within those categories. When I just started writing about whatever I felt like I found my content was just better. It’s also so easy to tell when someone doesn't genuinely like what they are writing about, and blogging is like an online diary of sorts, so why not just write what ya wanna write! One of the things I love about blogging is taking the photos. I have just been loving doing flatlays recently. After doing flatlays I find myself so much more inspired for the post and ready to write some good ol’ rambles down. I think with blogging it’s really just about doing what you love, and whether thats sharing your travel stories, or beauty picks, or whatever, you just have to have fun doing it!
